Jetstar mishap blamed on poor training By Selma Milovanovic Transport Reporter June 23, 2004

Case against QF pilots adjourned Two Qantas pilots facing charges of reckless operation of an aircraft have had their case adjourned until mid-July. The Civil Aviation and Safety Authority has alleged that Victorian pilots Peter Maxwell Edwards and Stephen Sarunic took off in a B737 carrying 77 passengers from Launceston for Melbourne one night in October 2001 without activating the airport runway, taxiway and obstacle lights. The flight arrived safely, but CASA claimed the pilots' failure to activate the lights, providing a reference point if the aircraft needed to turn back in trouble, breached the Civil Aviation Act. 9 June 2004
